It certainly has plenty of antioxidants, which are thought to be beneficial to health, and the darker the chocolate, the more of these are present. Dark chocolate is also lower in fat. Having said that, milk chocolate is supposed to be better for stimulating the endorphins, the mood boosting chemicals associated with eating chocolate or even thinking about eating chocolate. My recommendation is to firstly think about eating some milk chocolate but then to actually eat a nice piece of dark chocolate, preferably flavoured with chilli flakes, my favourite kind!!

Ruth has such a good point dark chocolate with chilli is surprisingly good! I was skeptical but like it’s great!

Also a little bit of chocolate every now and then is grand! You just don’t want to over do it! Also you can get chocolate with probiotic (good) bacteria in it! I dunno if it works… my friend was doing her research on it and I can’t remember :/

I’ll have to give that dark chocolate and chilli a go!

There’s also some evidence that chocolate can reduce the chances of cardiovascular diseases. I think the jury may still be out on that one though?
