I’ve been snorkelling on the great barrier reef in Australia and it was AMAZING! Popping your head down into crystal clear water and watching really colourful fish swim past you – it was just brilliant, I loved it.

Are we talking science related? Or both… Science related I ADORED the Royal Society in London. It’s steeped in a rich history of groundbreaking science and the books!!! It’s got stacks and stacks of old journals! And WOW

Otherwise… San Francisco was beautiful. Cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge and way way WAY far into the nearby towns we got to see amazing redwoods.

Among the cool places I have been for scientific conferences, Cape Town, South Africa stood out, it was a fantastic experience, watching humpback whales from the shore… seeing elephants a few feet in front of you and learning about life in South Africa. Another really nice place was Montreal, Canada, where I managed to see a Blue Whale blow which made my year!!

Most exciting place I’ve been to so far, would be Munich in Germany. It’s a great city for a short break with a group of friends – lots to do, see, and eat! Not as exciting as Munich but Bled in Slovenia was one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to (google it, you’ll see why!) Apparently during the winter the lake freezes over and you can ice skate out to the island in the middle. I went during the summer though, so it was just swimming for me.
