I usually try to work between 9am to 6pm but depending on how busy I am this can be shorter or longer.
For me, it also depends on what kind of experiments I’m doing. If the experiment takes a long time, then my day will become longer as well.

But I guess one of the many benefits to being a scientist, you’re largely your own boss. So it’s completely up to you when the work gets done (as long as your supervisor is happy 🙂 )

Well if today’s a day to go by… Very little. I overslept and there will be no parking until 1pm. Other days I could be in at 7-6. It varies. I try to do 8-5 where possibly to avoid traffic and when needed work later. But other days I just head home. I’m a night owl and write best from 11pm onwards so if I’m working on papers I’ll just stay home

It depends what is going on. Mostly 9-530 but if we are going animal sampling you could be on the road at 5am. But that would be only occasionally. Up until recently I would frequently stay in til 7 or 8 pm, when its nice and quiet, and good for getting some writing done. These days, I have to be at the crèche by 6 or so, which is probably no harm!
